This position is open for qualified Jordanian candidates from UN agencies and WFP. Female candidates in particular, are encouraged to apply.
Supervision: The incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the Programme Officer.
Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
· Contribute towards and oversee general food distributions, welcome meals, with support to pipeline and Programme stocks management, coordination with partners, ensuring operational alignment with wider WFP policies and procedures, and timely monitoring of activities;
· Provide management support for monitoring and evaluation of distribution activities, including regular operational reporting and updates, analyzing the operational environment and advising on improvements in programme implementation;
· Support the development, livelihood and resilience officer in setting up the Capacity Development and Augmentation (CD&A) action plan for national government in food security and nutrition related programmes and policies.
· Regularly visit field operations to advise on links between programme design and implementation, and ensure achievement of project objectives;
· Follow data gathering and monitoring systems to ensure that rigorous quality standards are maintained;
· Research and analyze policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes and activities. Prepare periodic reports on the progress of projects and related government plans;
· Responsible for PO creation, reports extraction, and overseeing food and in-kind related Field Level Agreement (FLA) creation, Payment requests and other financial tasks;
· Liaise with other food assistance programmes, UN agencies, and NGOs providing technical assistance;
· Supporting food and nutrition strategic planning by identifying fields of development where food aid can be usefully employed, and contributing to documents such as Regional Response Plans, Contingency Planning, and Needs Assessment;
· Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives and maintaining manuals;
· Provide guidance to support staff, acting as a point of referral and assisting them with analysis and queries;
· Perform other related duties as required.
