Scope of work
The Warehouse Officer reports to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for managing IRC warehouses located in Amman and Ramtha, including receipt, storage and dispatch of program materials and supplies.
Specific Responsbilites:
· Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
· Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
· Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
· Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
· Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
· Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
· Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Understand, implement and maintain standard IRC inventory management policies and procedures.
· Manage and document the receipt, handling, storage, release and reporting of goods through the IRC warehouse.
· Maintain the Warehouse Register recording all outgoing and incoming receipts and activities.
· Check quality, quantity and condition of goods delivered to warehouse, producing relevant Goods Delivery Note.
· Manage dispatch and transportation of program supplies from warehouse to field sites based on appropriately athorized store releases producing relevant accompanying documentation (waybills), when required.
· Implement and ensure clear loading / unloading procedures, correct stacking and turnover (FIFO or FEFO) procedures.
· Advise of potential inventory shortages
· Keep an accurate and up-to-date record of the store contents in stock cards and prepare monthly inventory reports.
· Carry out spot checks and physical inventory count on monthly basis.
· Manage Warehouse Assistants and casual laborers in the warehouse.
· Implement and ensure clear safety and security procedures.
· Ensure the maintenance of warehouse building, fittings and equipment.
